Many email campaign designs will use the same layout, with only the content changing. This allows more focus to be placed on the content, while not having to re-design the layout each time. It also aids in establishing recognition with your subscribers.
You can create message templates which act as placeholders for your content.
There are two types of message templates: list-wide and system-wide.
List-wide templates are designated to specific lists, and only show up when those lists are used.
Visit Campaigns > Message Templates.
System-wide templates are global to all lists, and will always show up no matter what lists are specified.
Visit Settings > System-Wide Templates.
Create your template in the HTML or Text editor.
An example of an effective layout may involve tables. In in the HTML editor, click on the "Insert table" icon, and specify your rows and columns:
When entering a campaign, you'll have the option to create a new message from scratch, or from a template:
Applicable list-wide templates (those that apply to the lists used in the campaign), and all system-wide templates will be available to choose from. Choosing a template will pre-load the message body with the contents of your template - allowing you to quickly create a new message with ease.
Importing and Exporting templates
You can import and export templates from both the list-wide and system-wide sections.
To import, click the Import button along the bottom of the list-view screen:
You will then be required to upload the template in XML format, for use in the mailing software. The XML file should be specifically structured to be read by the mailing software.
If you are importing a list-wide template, choose the appropriate lists, otherwise name your template, and hit Import:
To export, click the Export link next to any template, and choose the type of export - XML or HTML:
Choosing XML will allow your template to be re-imported again, or shared with another user of the same software.
